Alcohol-free & Halal
Here you will find the complete list of dishes in which no alcohol is used at all during the cooking process: neither as a main ingredient nor as a secondary ingredient (*). All these dishes are also Halal.
In some of our Solid Stash dishes (such as our Bolognese, Lasagne, or Vol-au-Vegan), alcohol (such as wine or sherry) is added as a main ingredient during the cooking process. The vast majority of the alcohol evaporates during cooking. In one serving of Bolognese, lasagne, or Vol-au-Vegan, only the equivalent of 4 ml of wine remains. That is just 3/100th of a normal glass of wine. We certainly think this is a very small amount, but whether you consider this negligible (for example, if you are breastfeeding or avoiding alcohol) is, of course, up to you!
Other dishes (for example, the Grain Bowl, Pub Pie & Neatloaf Burgers) contain alcohol as a secondary ingredient: it is a byproduct in, for example, the mustard, miso, or vinegar that we add to some of our recipes. In these dishes, no material amount of alcohol remains after cooking.
However, it is possible that some customers (for example, some members of the Muslim community) still wish to avoid consuming products in which alcohol has been used as a primary and/or secondary ingredient during the cooking process (whether it has evaporated or not).
