Hello there. Hello. Lily here.
New year, new me indeed, because hey: I’m back after my maternity leave with baby Toots! Hello. Hi. I missed you.
... And that brings me seamlessly to the topic of this note. Because you’re ‘back at work’ while – on top of your toddler – you have a new baby, moved a month ago with all your stuff to an unfinished house, your kids just started school and daycare, boxes and lunch packs are driving you crazy, and the routines you hoped to have built still don’t exist... That’s clearly no small feat 🙃
It’s in this context that I tell you: if you have a freezer full of super easy, delicious Stash meals here (for now still in our living room), that’s truly a lifesaver. Honestly, if I may say so myself: how great is our concept, how tasty is our food!? I mean it! We’ve avoided so much hunger and fights just by having that full freezer! (*)
The ultimate chaos of our life nowadays reminded me once again: having a well-stocked freezer full of warm winter dishes and little treats at home is one of the few routines I can keep up without any trouble.
From a Casserole with our toddler (who loves it), to a stolen dinner date with Monne with our Red Wine Ragout and our delicious parsnip, potato and confit garlic puree (that ragout and puree combo! HEAVEN!!), to the small pleasure of – after seven months of folding laundry, spreading sandwiches and peeling fruit – being able to flop down on the couch for half an hour with a glass of wine and a plate full of piping hot, wonderfully crafted oven snacks and actually enjoy our new home: these stress-free meals are the glue holding things together here now.
Pretty special, isn’t it?
Love,
Lily
